Should you use iCloud to sync your desktop between computers? No!

iCloud says it can sync desktop between computers.

What really happens if you go down this path is this:

iCloud will copy desktop and documents folders to iCloud drive. If you turn syncing off, iCloud will delete your desktop items and documents on your Mac and keep them on the iCloud drive.

It will rename the desktop folder with the name of the Mac it was on. But, oddly it seems to place the Desktop items in the Desktop folder for the first computer that was set up.

It won't merge the desktop between two computers to give you a unified desktop, but rather, copy them up to iCloud separately.

I think this could be so much more useful if it could give a unified desktop across machines.

You'd better have a backup if you want to try this one!
